David A. Esposito, M.D.
Dr. Esposito is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in arthroscopic surgery of the knee, hip, elbow and shoulder. Sports medicine is his passion. His experience with athletics spans from a lifetime of playing sports and coaching to serving athletes in a medical capacity, where he gets them playing again as quickly and safely as possible. He has experience treating athletes at all levels, from youth and recreational participants to elite Division I, professional and Olympic athletes. He is deeply connected to the community, especially through his involvement with the school systems, where he serves as orthopaedic consultant and team physician for 21 high schools in southeastern North Carolina. Dr. Esposito was instrumental in placing defibrillators as well as implementing athletic trainers at New Hanover County and Onslow County schools. Dr. Esposito was honored in 1997-1998 with the Distinguished Service Award for North Carolina from the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association as well as the Superintendent’s Excellence in Education Award in 2001.
Dr. Esposito spends much of his free time outdoors, where he enjoys biking, skiing, snowshoeing, boating and snowmobiling. He and his wife, Kathy, have four children.
